Understanding Your Rocket Account Interest
Rocket, the mobile financial service (MFS) from Dutch-Bangla Bank, allows users to earn interest on the money they keep in their account. This is a great way to make your balance work for you. However, the interest isn't a flat rate; it's based on a tiered system. This calculator helps demystify that system, giving you a clear estimate of your earnings.
Rocket's Tiered Interest System Explained
Rocket incentivizes users to maintain a higher balance by offering better interest rates for larger amounts. The interest is calculated based on your daily closing balance but is typically paid out to your account semi-annually. Our tool provides a clear estimate based on the following publicly known rate structure:
- Balance up to BDT 2,000.00: 0% per annum
- Balance from BDT 2,000.01 to BDT 50,000.00: 1.5% per annum
- Balance from BDT 50,000.01 to BDT 200,000.00: 2.5% per annum
- Balance over BDT 200,000.00: 3.0% per annum
By entering your balance in the tool above, you can quickly see which tier you fall into and what your estimated gross earnings would be over a month or a year.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is Rocket the same as DBBL Core Banking?
No. Rocket is the mobile financial service (MFS) wing of Dutch-Bangla Bank, whereas DBBL also has traditional core banking services with different savings products and rates. This calculator is specifically for the Rocket MFS account.
2. How often is Rocket interest paid?
Typically, interest on Rocket accounts is credited semi-annually (twice a year). However, for the most accurate information, you should check the official terms and services from DBBL Rocket.
3. Why did I not receive any interest?
To be eligible for interest, your account must remain active. Some MFS providers require a minimum number of transactions per month to qualify. Also, if your balance is below the lowest threshold (e.g., BDT 2,000), you will not earn any interest.
4. Are the interest rates in the calculator up to date?
This tool uses the latest publicly available interest rates for Rocket. However, rates are subject to change by Dutch-Bangla Bank at any time without notice. Always consider this an estimation tool.

Furthermore, this calculator is for informational purposes only. We do not encourage users to accept interest, as it is considered 'haram' (forbidden) in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) cursed those who deal with interest (riba). As narrated by Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed the one who consumes riba, the one who gives it to others, the one who records it, and the two who witness it." (Sahih Muslim 1598). For more details, you can refer to the Hadith at Sunnah.com.
