Understanding the bKash Savings Interest Rates
bKash, the leading mobile financial service in Bangladesh, offers users the opportunity to earn interest on their wallet balances. However, the tiered interest rate system can make it confusing to know how much you'll earn. This tool simplifies that complex process into a single click.
How bKash Calculates Your Interest
bKash uses a tiered system, meaning the annual interest rate you receive depends on your account balance. Higher balances are eligible for higher rates. The interest is calculated based on your day-end balance and is paid out twice a year (semi-annually).
Our calculator uses the latest publicly available rates for 2025. The current tiered structure is as follows:
- Balance up to BDT 1,000.00: 0% per annum
- Balance from BDT 1,000.01 to BDT 50,000.00: 2.0% per annum
- Balance from BDT 50,000.01 to BDT 100,000.00: 3.0% per annum
- Balance over BDT 100,000.00: 4.0% per annum
Simply enter your balance into the calculator above, and we'll instantly show you which rate applies and what your potential earnings could be.
Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you typically need to opt-in to the savings service through the bKash app. Once enabled, you will start earning interest as long as your balance meets the minimum criteria.
2. How often is the interest paid into my account?
bKash pays out the accumulated interest twice a year (every six months).
3. Is the interest I earn taxable?
Yes. The interest earned is subject to government regulations, and applicable VAT and/or AIT (Advance Income Tax) will be deducted at the source before the amount is credited to your account. Our calculator shows the gross interest amount before these deductions.

Furthermore, this calculator is for informational purposes only. We do not encourage users to accept interest, as it is considered 'haram' (forbidden) in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) cursed those who deal with interest (riba). As narrated by Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed the one who consumes riba, the one who gives it to others, the one who records it, and the two who witness it."
